CRI is Cyprus’ leading firm in insolvency, corporate recovery and turnarounds.
Our team of highly skilled professionals boasts a wealth of experience in both local and cross-border insolvencies, re-organisations and restructurings, asset-tracing and complex investigations involving multi-jurisdictional fraud. We provide advice and guidance on solvent and insolvent liquidations in common law and other jurisdictions.
We aim to work closely with all stakeholders, in order to provide the best possible advice and guidance by utilising all tools available to us. Our team of experienced professionals includes Cyprus, UK and Romania Licensed Insolvency Practitioners. Where rescue can not be achieved, we will provide guidance and advice as to the way forward, which often may lead to insolvent liquidation.
CRI is at the forefront of complex cross-border insolvency cases. A recent appointment is the receivership of G.N. Terminal Enterprises Ltd, the holding company of a leading Ukrainian grain exporter based in Odessa, with UAE and Swiss subsidiaries. In the short period since the Receiver’s appointment, he has taken steps to take control of the group and a criminal investigation is underway by the Cypriot authorities following his complaint to the police’s Economic Crime Unit.
Another notable assignment is the liquidation of Mriya Agro Holding Plc, a Ukrainian agricultural group liquidated in Cyprus, with debts exceeding €1.1bn. Following complex investigations, worldwide freezing orders were successfully obtained, and a criminal investigation ensued against the perpetrators, following which local, European and international arrest warrants were issued. We also successfully restructured the group and compromised the debt, saving 2000 jobs and the business and assets were sold to an investor.
